White's Factory Acushnet, MA - PART II : White's Factory in Acushnet, MA "A mill dam was first built on this site in 1746. About 1799, William White, Sr. built a stone water-powered cotton mill for himself and three of his sons, Phineas, William and Benjamin. That mill, one of the earliest in the country, burned down around 1830. It was rebuilt in 1831, burned again around 1854, and finally converted to a sawmill whose last operator was James B. Hamlin. New Bedford Whaling Museum : The mission of the New Bedford Whaling Museum is to educate and interest all the public in the historic interaction worldwide of humans with whales; in the history of Old Dartmouth and adjacent communities; and in regional maritime activities. To accomplish this mission, the New Bedford Whaling Museum, also known as the Old Dartmouth Historical Society, shall: collect, preserve and interpret the artifacts and documentary evidence of these endeavors; maintain a whaling, maritime and local history museum; maintain a library; promote and disseminate historical research; and accept, maintain, and hold historic sites where appropriate. This will be accomplished under the standards of collections management as endorsed by the American Association of Museums. The Assonet Ledge : All photos taken on October 14, 2010 "One of the most popular, easiest and fun hikes locally is the walk to Assonet Ledge. The ledge was a result of quarrying a unique type of granite called Arkose Granite, by the Fall River Granite Company during the 1800s. This granite was used in various construction projects that are still standing today: Fort Adams, Taunton State Hospital, New Bedford WaterWorks, New York State House in Albany and some of the Newport mansions." The first film ever shown on it's screen was, " Smile, brother, Smile " starring Jack Mulhall and Dorothy Mackaill. Following that first evening of Hollywood glamor and vaudeville talent, The State Theater would go on to be the home of many happy memories and long remembered friends. From movies, to music, to Broadway caliber productions on it's stage, The State Theater was always a multi purpose entertainment facility, even when it's name was changed to the " Stoughton Cinema Pub. "

A Day in Boston, MA 2010 : I spent the day walking around Boston, MA with a good friend who really knows his way around the area - Thanks Aaron! We covered a lot of ground...about 10-15 miles or so but it was fantastic. I would have really missed a lot of these shots if it weren't for Aaron bringing me back down to Earth as I was in awe of the whole experience with all these was to possibly capture. He probably doesn't know it but he was a good eye for this sort of thing. This was a great learning experience for me, photography-wise. There was a lot of people to deal with, changing skies, and even trying to white balance within shots when there was both daylight and tungsten was hard and required some serious photoshop (serious for me anyway Ha!)

Fort Wetherill State Park : Jamestown, RI - Fort Wetherill State Park, situated upon 100 foot high granite cliffs across the water from Fort Adams State Park, is a former coastal defense battery and training camp. Known for its spectacular view of Newport Harbor and the East Passage of Narragansett Bay, Fort Wetherill has been a popular sight for viewing the numerous Tall Ship Events and America’s Cup Races. The area is also a major attraction for scuba diving, with Diving Clubs from New York State, Connecticut, Massachusetts and Rhode Island using the facilities at the boat ramp year round. Waterworks Museum : Images taken on March 9th, 2012 For more information, please visit: http://www.waterworksmuseum.org/ "The Waterworks Museum is located on the site of the original Chestnut Hill Reservoir and pumping station. By the 1880’s, Boston’s water system couldn’t keep up with the rapid growth of the city and its water needs. Chestnut Hill was identified as the location for a new reservoir and main pumping station. The original station was built in 1887, but by the 1890’s, it was clear that demand had quickly outstripped the ability to transport sufficient water. The need for more water resulted in the installation of increasingly powerful (and enormous!) pumping engines, which operated every day until the 1970’s, when the site was taken offline, and Boston’s water supply shifted to the Quabbin Reservoir. The Chestnut Hill Reservoir, however, is still used as a back-up source of water in case of emergencies."

Westborough Insane Asylum : History: "Almost 10 years after Danvers State Hospital was opened, construction started for Westboro State Hospital in 1884. With 600 plus acres of land and located on Chauncy Lake it was a promising place for it's new patients. In 1886 it opened it's doors to the public. On the property was the Talbot Building which was a former state reform school built in 1848. In later years the state took it over and became part of the hospital. The complex had a Laundry room, a Theater, Cottages, Male and Female buildings. Westboro would be the first to use homeopathic medicines to treat its patients unlike most hospitals of its time. Overtime when a ward or section of the hospital would no longer be in use, they would seal it up. Basically sectioning off the hospital until the only active part would be in Admin building, which finally closed in June 2010. Most of the orginal complex is closed."
